Hughes papers, 1872-1888.

Handwritten history of Tucson and a general account book; eight-page history by Hughes is entitled "Tucson's Earliest Days" is dated Feb. 7, 1888. The history is not personal but instead gives a brief history of Tucson and Pima County including the Presidio, wild animals, vegetation and climate. Also present is the general account book kept by Thomas Hughes while he was post trader at Fort Crittenden, 1872; and later used by Samuel Hughes as a Daybook for 1874. I
